Automatic activation

Automatic activation of the fire protection system

GMT Fire Save – intelligent protection for electrical and photovoltaic installations

Automatic activation is one of the key features of GMT Fire Save systems, enabling immediate response to fire hazards. The technology is designed to automatically respond to temperature increases in enclosed spaces within electrical installations , such as switchboards, control cabinets, electrical boxes, and photovoltaic installation components.

If the temperature rises to a critical level, the system automatically activates, without the need for electrical power, electronic sensors, or human intervention. This solution provides continuous, reliable fire protection for electrical installations 24 hours a day , minimizing the risk of serious losses resulting from fire.

How automatic activation of the GMT Fire Save system works

Automatic activation technology was developed to effectively protect areas where electrical fires most frequently occur. In enclosed installation spaces, temperatures can rise very quickly due to a short circuit, system overload, or arc flash.

When the temperature in the protected area reaches a critical level:

• the system is automatically activated
• the process of releasing the extinguishing agent is started
• the fire is extinguished at the place of its origin
• the spread of fire is stopped

Thanks to this action, it is possible to stop the fire in its initial phase , before it spreads to the entire installation or building.

Why automatic activation is so important

When it comes to electrical installations, response time is crucial. Fires can spread in minutes, especially in areas such as:

  • electrical switchboards

  • control cabinets

  • photovoltaic installations

  • energy storage

  • PV inverters

  • server rooms
